Eightball's ass still in bandages...

... dinnertime the next night after going out. Too old to rock? You be the judge.
He definately kicked that wheeliebin's ASS, and a bag of rags in the laneway. And driving with a traffic cone on my head I look like a wizard. Skaffen, your vagina came in very handy, and for that I thank you.

Shut up and keep taking photos of my ass

Bubba Ho-Tep and Phantasm IV:Oblivion

Dudes we still haven't seen Bubba Ho-Tep, and there is a "new" Phantasm movie out, number 4. 2 was best, 1 is fun, 3 was fucking terrible. Reports on 4 are pretty good, I'm hanging to see it.

Count these as ideas for stuff to chase down and watch on an alcohol fuelled video night.

Skaffen tell me if these are at your video store OK? That and the internet are the best bets IMO.

Claiming comics on tax

... and reading them at work is sweet.

I can claim everything I've bought from the comic shop from my work, acheball those comics I lent you, could you tell me the US prices on them via email? The dude's going to write me up one reciept for the lot, yay!

I got Army of Darkness - Ashes to Ashes #3 and #4, the last 2 of the mini series. There is going to be another series, "Shop till you Drop" or something set back at S-Mart where Ash works. I'm in two minds about it though... but I'll probably get it.

The artist is the guy who does Dangergirl, so he's good at drawing chicks... anyway I like the drawing style and character design, and it's inspiring for stylised 3D ideas, but as an artist actually doing comic book art - keeping action sequences "readable", remembering to include shit the characters are discussing in the dialogue, and other issues like sound effects not jumping out enough but being referred to in dialogue (maybe not his fault, but an issue) are not great. It's a lot of fun, but flawed. The story starts to slip in these last 2 issues too, I found it more of an interesting lesson in writing comic books/animation than a ripsnorting read. I like how the pace is ridiculously fast, but they need to be clearer to keep things clear at that pace, and there are some ideas that haven't been properly fleshed out and others which aren't clearly explained.

The dude also got in for me an older issue of The Goon, with guest appearance from Hellboy. It's funny as fuck, funnier than I expected. I should have known, because the Goon RULES, shame on me.

The Dark Room

You may have seen this. Awesome use of flash (I.E. only it seems) No instructions, just get out of the room. You can save your progress which is good, cause it's a complete cunt at times.

Top 3

Here is the current Top 3 most outrageously bullshit words used by Stephen Donaldson in The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever - Book 1 - The Runes of the Earth.

1 - Indefeasible*
2 - Salvific
3 - Frangible

* Gets the number one spot for being used in the same sentence as the word "autonomic"

I only started compiling this list 3/4 of the way through the book, he seems to have realised the book will eventually end (despite dragging "they climbed a steep mountain" out over 180 pages, every angst-ridden footstep) and he'd better roll out the stupid made-up words while he has a chance.

This guy writes like George Bush talks on Dead Ringers.

The Preacher

Suprnova is down but thank fuck I saved torrents to my comics folder to fire up at work, as that page was blocked from here but the torrents worked.

Anyway The Preacher is helping me procrastinate from 3D work tonight. It's by the dudes who did Hellblazer, and it's neato. Great characters and characterisations of a southern redneck cop who is a conspiracy theorist, an excellent bad guy etc. Nerds I can share this with you when I see you. Good dialogue.

If anyone finds a new source of torrents hook me up. I particularly want all Invader Zim episodes, I can watch those puppies on repeat with my kids but only have a few episodes.

WTF

Today I rode my new pushbike to work. When I showed up I found I wasn't the only guy with that idea, about 4 other guys had ridden in today as well. The difference however is that they all wear spandex jumpsuits & orange wraparound glasses. I mean seriously whats up?

Do bike shops not have mirrors or do these people really think they are fucking superhero's?

if anyone see's me dressed up like a fat version of Shazam you have my permission to beat the shit out of me & then spend some time trying to beat the shit back into me.

Fart Humidity

On Sunday, in the presence of friendly TML delivery and installation staff, I unexpectedly found myself raising the age old question:

How wet can a fart be, and still be referred to as a fart?

I was standing when the fart occured, doing a wee in the classic pose, and I managed to fill my shorts without actually touching cloth, if that makes sense. Immediately afterwards, as the full nature of what had happened was dawning on me, I heard my in-laws walk into the house with loud greetings: They had literally just walked in after a year away in Alice Springs. We were going to be expected to hug, kiss, and not have shit in our pants. Except the 3 year old but that's another story.

Anyway I'm proud to say I cleaned up and got away with boxers still in a fit state to wear to work. I told TML staff what had happened and he immediately left the building.

So how wet can one be? I think it's like Turing and the question of Artificial Intelligence:
If it feels like a fart, it's a fart. Anything else is shit.

INCREDIBLES

Saw it last night, took the wife and kids. Local cinema too, so it was $28 instead of christ knows how much it would have been at a Village for 4 of us. $50 at least.

It's fucking awesome, my favourite PIXAR film, great script, hilarious and technically rad. I want to see it again in the cinema and then buy the DVD.

Go see this movie.

Previews: Chicken Little is Disney but not Pixar, and looks shit. The jury's out on CARS. ROBOTS from Blue Sky (?) who did ICE AGE, looks cool.

Gangsta Homewok

Take 5 minutes to read the images/pages posted up here. It is some of the most brilliant & funny writing I've seen in minutes.

I feel like a pussy for not ever being sent to the Principal for getting a headjob during class.

Mod Music

What this guy wants to know is, what kind of music would you like blaring behind the growl of your chopper while you're hammering down the freeway head-on at your opponent and lining up your meatcleaver?

Metal, obviously.

The question is, can we get away with using anyones: can Stompy get us permission? Or do we need to try to record our own whilst dressed as Godzillas and headbutting balsawood skyscrapers?

Katamari Damacy

The thing I don't like about this little green dude is that for some reason his creators have decided to only release the game Katamari Damacy for NTSC platforms. So, if I want to play what has been reported to be one awesomely addictive and original game (click on the green dude already) then I have to either buy a new, imported PS2, or illegally mod my existing system.

That gives me the shits.

Domain Names

Where do I got to get a domain name? The people I used for Metalshtorm are about $45 AUS a year or less, can someone point me to a cheap one?

Pointless Musing

You guys have obviously developed meaningful lives.
I have 2 jobs and 2 kids, but still have time to whack off here. Hmmm. Whatever you are busy doing, it must be good.

Deadworld comics are coming back, revived by Dark Horse and hopefully given a new lease on (un)life. Fucking sweet.

When I got back to town my PO box was more chock full than my colon was (plane food, not condoms full of Thai smack. But thanks for asking.)
A 2 book series on cartoon character creation in Lightwave = schibby, and 3 new metal cds.
- Zombie Ritual - heavy dirty grind/metal, wierd Japanese kids in zombie makeup.
- New ENGORGED - thrashmetal exhumed, sped up, given a modern production and sodomised back to horrifying life. These guys rule.
- and new BRODEQUIN - first of their 3 full-lengths with intelligible riffs, still fast as an insinkerator, more blur than blast, this band have taken the idea of "concept album" to span a musical career obsessing over torture techniques during the Spanish inquisition. The ultra brutal US death metal scene reached saturation point some time ago, bands with personality are all that float to the top and these guys have personality in spades. Ominous riffs, stupidly deep "vocals" and when the last superhuman drummer quit they poached the fastest goregrind drummer alive - from Foetopsy. I am spanking HARD with the lyrics sheet pressed against my sticky date.
