$300 AUS? You better go get one now then dude. You are going to be only person in the airport HOPING your flight gets delayed 2 hours so you can finish this level without interruption.

How much are they here? A lot more than 300 right?

They're going to be about AU$389 from JB, a guy at work got one from a mate in teh states for about $290, it's pretty rad except the proprietary disk/cartridge which will make pirate games all but impossible. however when you get it, make sure you get a second memory stick to go with it, cause with 2 memory sticks you can load all sorts of emulators on it.

snes, mame etc. portable radness to the extreme.

This looks awesome as well http://www.bandaigames.com/games/sdgundam_s.html
PS2 only at the moment, I think I'll try to download it somewhere & go get the PS2 modchipped, so Stomps kids can move in under my coffee table & nip at me ankles everytime I try to play my own PS2.

I picked one up pretty cheap, though not awesomely cheap.

That said, I don't really care. A review will be upcoming once my eyes stop bleeding from Wipeout Pure marathons.

I made a whoopsie and bought the US version instead of the Jap one. This has three drawbacks that if anyone you know is planning to get one they might want to know about.

Firstly the UMD format movies are regioned the same as DVDs. So if you're going to import then get a Jap one (region 2) as that's the same region as Europe and it will be cheaper/easier to import videos, unless you are happy to buy at Australian prices 18 months after everyone else has seen it. I got an American one (region 1) so if I want to watch movies I'll need to order them from the states. Why you would want to watch $90 worth of movie on a 4.5" lcd display is beyond me so I am not concerned, but others might be.

Secondly, though the PSP is regioned the games are only psuedo-regioned. What I mean is any game from anywhere will run on any PSP, BUT if you want to play link-up (with built in 802.11b you can play with up to 16 PSPs networked) you can only play if everyone has a copy of a game from the same COUNTRY. (They may mean region but this has not been clarified yet.) Therefore, you just need to pay attention to where you order games from that you may want to network.

Finally, each and every PSP has 802.11b built-in, but the US one is not a strong due to their radio-wave emissions restrictions. This would explain why mine has big warnings about not using it in crowded areas cause you could bugger up peoples pacemakers (serious!)

In my humble opinion (which I didn't even listen to due to my must-have-now mentality) you should always buy Jap products from Lik-Sang as they are awesome and do special things like ship the PSP with an extra adaptor for your countries power sockets etc. And they are cheap.

In the end I paid about $400 for the console value pack, a game (Wipeout) and a usb charging adaptor so I can charge it off my laptop. I have found stores here with more game at about 40AUD each. I could have saved about 60AUD if I had been patient, but since when have I been patient?
