My Ears Are Ringing

Might have something to do with the blasting grind and gore metal on Saturday night. Whoah. The highlight for me: punching Damon Bloodstorm (a big scary-looking guy with a potatoe for a head) as he was walking past, then pointing over his shoulder at Eightball. Damon looked confused, so I punched him again, harder, and pointed at a young kid next to me. Damon smiled and patted them both on the head, and there were sighs of relief all around. Except from me, I was hoping for an eruption of drunken violence.

Highlight for me, getting pointed at whilst Damon Bloodstorm was getting punched.

Overall a great night, good bands & good beer (well beers rarely bad). I spent about $40 more than I planned to & Fuck I'm Dead's guitarist pulled out the double finger tap solo in "Burnt to an absolute crisp", always a highlight.

Undinism, are coming out with some awesome new song titles "poos & wees" & "a faceful of cum & a fistfull of stiffy" stand out whilst keeping the good ol' 25 second grind song spirit alive. Captain Cleanoff look like smarmy private school boys but fucking tear it up so much that you let them look as smarmy as they want.

It was then back to a screening of Ong Bak with no subtitles & both Adri-gut & I fell asleep before the violence kicked in (well I know I did anyway)

Happy Birthday Stompy

Help me, I have the satanic goregrind bug.
We are doing this again soon, I am experiencing tinitus withdrawal. There are good shows every 2 weeks now, so soooooooon.....

Alarum, a techy melodic blah blah death metal band like DEATH, who I don't like much either, are playing in a fortnight I think, with OMNIUM GATHERUM from Adelaide who are gods. They are tech like what the word "technical" really means, not DEP wankery nor cookie-cutter US death metal tech, but "those kids are doing something unholy with what their private classical music tutors taught them" tech. Their cd has a trebly AM car stereo production job, live they make the US death metal scene sound like that whole continent could quietly sink into the sea and deathbangers wouldn't even miss it.
