Note: If you are not reading/watching Naruto, you are missing out on the raddest ninja anime series ever.
They made a Ninja Scroll series that I checked out, had it been printed on toilet paper I wouldn't have done it the honour of wiping my filthy arse with it.
Naruto is insanely good and everyone should watch it for ever.
My kids go to Narutofan.com regularly. Naruto is the best anime series I've seen, weighing it all up. It just doesn't have the ling stretches of boredom which usually come with anime watching. It's funny, violent, cool and sometimes moving, and there's always something going on. Also I think it kind of breaks the usual rule of thumb that the anime are not half as good as the manga. Some people online think the english dubbing is badly done for Naruto, but I dont mind it, and when you compare Hellsing anime (which was awesome) with the original manga (which is insanely awesome) you find Naruto stands up well to the conversion.
The older boy and I watch it when the little one is in bed, we love it, and I'm hoping that as it's so popular it'll go forever like Dragonball does.
The thing that makes it work is the characters. They got that right, and then hung the rest on it. In the Naruto artbook the dude talks about designing Sakura, and how originally there was only going to be the one character or something and then he made it the three trainees. It's funny how an idea goes thru several permutations. You should see the old ideas for The Goon character - they were CRAP.
I am up to something like episode 93 of the fansubbed anime and there's 172 episodes to date.
Plus, the Manga is up to chapter 294, which gives me a hard on cause they are NEVER going to catch up.
I have this idea floating around of setting up an automated script so when the latest ep comes out it downloads it, coverts the format and whacks it on my PSP. So each Wednesday or whatever I have Naruto to watch on the tube. Then I just need to find four more series (Like Gants?) for the other days of the week.
