I said I was too tired for Avalon...

... but the kids shouted me down.

The dungeon bits made their first appearance in-game. Still at lot of work to do on them, but they went over very well.

I told the kids I was thinking of saving to take them to GenCon in Brisbane next year, but thought the money would be better spent on more dungeon set stuff. They agreed.

So the door looks like this.

They loaded the Cockatank with buff spells from scrolls (mage armour, magic weapon) fed him a resist acid potion, a cure light wounds, and ripped out some tail feathers to send him into a barbarian berserker rage, and sent him in.

We stopped at bedtime, to resume in the morning.
Here's what they know:

... and here's what they'll wake up to tomorrow:

Roll initiative, then save vs acid.
They better roll high, this puppy has like a bazillion armour class and hit points until the cows come home.

They woke me up early, so it was easy to play a grumpy dragon. The Cocky waded in delivering ridiculous meat-chops with his axe, the Lizard tried to sneak past to flank the dragon and got chomped hard for his trouble, and the Echidna got in there swinging also.

Sissy summoned a dire spider who got in nipping at the dragon's heels, and then Sissy did a robot dance move (the big boy got up out of his chair to show me,) flicking his sleeve to produce a wand (like something out of Taxi Driver,) and fired a volley of magic missiles, which hit the target even if it's in melee with allies, so that worked OK, whittling a few hp each round.

The dragon got to fire up the acid blast twice, and the Echidna bore the brunt of the burn damage. The Cocky did get a face full but the resist acid potion saved him.
