Dirt Fuckin' Cheap Laptops
Acer 1.3ghz Lappie under a grand
Compaq 1.3ghz Lappie for just over a grand (bigger XGA screen, more ram upgradability)
& look whats next to that, an ex-lease (refurbished?) IBM thinkpad for 700 BUCKS. Everyone knows my thoughts on thinkpads, they aren't the prettiest laptops around, but they're built to last & are generally small with exceptional battery life.
if I had the means I'd definatley pick one of these little wonders up as a portable lowend lappie SOON as they will go quick before end of the financial year

We went and got one of the Compaqs for my Polish friend on the weekend. It is actually quite lush and really good value.
That said, the reason it's so cheap is that a new one has come out that is identical apart from a widescreen format change. The new one is about $300 more. Compaq are doing $100 back on all the old ones, so we found them for the same price at Myers etc, but the Harvey Norman dude did give us discounts on peripherals and shit at the time of sale. From memory Myers are tightarsed fuckers so I was happy about that.
